 Las Vegas Welcomes Toni BraxtonPublished 5/26/2006
Beginning Aug. 3, the R&B singer will perform six nights a week through March 2007 in a full-scale musical production called Toni Braxton: Revealed. "This is a show where I'm going to reveal myself to my fans, because a lot of things don't know about me," Braxton, 37, told the Associated Press on Thursday. "It's going to be sexy," she said. "It's going to be intimate." The production will take fans through her musical career beginning in 1992 and feature a high-energy fashion show likely with clothes from designer Dolce & Gabbana, she said. "I'm not a Britney Spears or a Janet Jackson, but I have a little rhythm," she said. |
Hairspray Has Come and Gone in Vegas
The hit broadway show Hairspray is on tour and has landed in Las Vegas. Winner of 8 Tony awards in 2003, this amazing adaptation of the 1988 film by John Waters features an original score written by Marc Shairnan. In Hairspray it's 1962- the 50's are out and change is in the air. Baltimore's Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, has only one passion - to dance. She wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show" and overnight, is transformed from outsider to irrepressible teen celebrity.
But can a plus-size trendsetter in dance and fashion vanquish the program's reigning princess, win the heart of the heartthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a television show without denting her 'do?
